Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy
A reduction of significant proportion of the stomach from its original size is called sleeve
gastrectomy – a technique of bariatric surgery. A large portion of the stomach is surgically
removed at the greater curve. There is sufficient improvement in comorbidity and weight loss
mechanisms due to gastric restriction. It is a single stage surgery and is a widely recommended
stand-alone procedure. The operation restricts the amount of food intake due to the decrease in
the appetite-prompting hormone ghrelin
- Person whose BMI exceeds more than 35
- Person who suffer from ailments like type 2 diabetes, sleep apnea and high blood
- pressure with a BMI of more than 33
- Person who has complications in heart, lung and liver because of obesity.
- Patients with infertility because of obesity
